Dr. Tirtha Dhar is an Assistant Professor in Marketing in the Faculty of Business and Information Technology. Before joining UOIT, he was a faculty at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia and a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. He earned his PhD from the University of Connecticut. His work has been published in top ranking economics and marketing journals such as:

  • American Journal of Agricultural Economics
  • International Journal of Marketing Research
  • Journal of Economics and Management Strategy
  • Journal of Marketing Research
  • Management Science
  • Marketing Science

He has also co-authored book chapters in economics and law. His research focuses on the role of marketing in information technology, public policy, marketing channel co-ordination, empirical measurements of advertising effects, and movie marketing. His research has been funded by SSHRC, USDA, and other public and nongovernmental organizations. He has taught courses in:

  • marketing research
  • marketing management
  • introduction to marketing
  • advanced statistical methods in marketing
