Asifa Aamir is an Associate Teaching Professor with the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She has a strong academic background in business studies and information systems engineering. As part of her masters' degree at University of Manchester (formerly UMIST), she researched the potential of multimedia instructional technologies in helping narrow the gender gap in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Her Master of Business Administration (MBA) thesis looked at the assistive and disruptive bearing of technologies on teaching and learning in higher education, with a focus on assessing hybrid (blended) model’s potential to address some of the key challenges faced by institutions delivering post-secondary education.

She has taught a variety of undergraduate courses including Business Math, Information Systems, Software Engineering and Database Management Systems. She identifies herself as a lifelong learner with a continued passion to understand and explore the potential of various technologies in the world of business and academia.
